Tristyn's first litter came at a time when I just wasn't ready for another dog, but I later wished I would have kept one for myself. So the following year I repeated the breeding to Am/Can DC Kinwashkly Dirty Ned Pepper, with the intention of keeping one this time! Mattie was the only girl in the second litter, and I had several females already so I didn't plan on keeping her, but in the end could not resist her! And I'm so glad I kept her, as she is turning out to be everything I hoped for from this litter, and more. Mattie has many of the best qualities of both of her parents; she is a very smart, independent-minded, well built and powerful running girl. She is full of life and joy and always puts a smile on my face. Mattie is on the smaller side and I chose not to run her in trials until 2015, but she soon earned multiple Puppy placements and then her Puppy points in March, 2015.

Mattie's show debut was at the 2014 ABC National Specialty show, where she won the 6-9 months puppy class. Despite having some minor scars from burns she obtained in our fire of October 2015, Mattie came back stronger than ever and finished her show championship with 5 major wins, the last being a 5-point win including Best of Opposite Sex over a special.

In March 2015, Mattie followed in her grandma Taryn's footsteps by winning the Texas Open Brittany Derby Classic! Mattie got some placements in adult stakes but eventually decided she'd most like to be a spoiled house dog, and she deserves to be, so she got her wish and retired in Florida!
