Tule (pronounced "TOO-lee") is a product of a long planned and much anticipated breeding between our very special girl Taryn and NFC/FC/AFC Shambo's Dark Shadow. After Taryn's severe illness from actinomycosis in 2007, we were afraid she might not be able to conceive again. But the next year she did, and we now have 6 puppies heading out into the world. My buyers chose their pups, and I kept the "leftovers" to grow up and evaluate -- after all, the last picked often turn out to be the best! This little pup with the silly white-tipped ears (who knows where that came from!) soon stole my heart with her independent spirit and her mother's mannerisms. She is a precocious little girl who earned the distinction of becoming Mom's first winning offspring. Tule's registered name comes from an Irish whiskey, Tullamore Dew, and her call name from the tule fog that's well known around where I grew up in California.

Tule began her competitive career at the 2008 ABC National Specialty show by winning her Sweepstakes class at 6 months & 1 week old under breeder-judge Teresa Richmond. She earned her first field trial placements in the spring of 2009, finishing out the season by winning 1st place in Open Puppy for her puppy points in April. She began the fall season by winning her Derby points in a 20 dog Open Derby stake, with a spectacular pheasant find. Watch for more from our little white girl in the future!
